About Us
Livewire began in 1981 as a source for reasonable and timely audio repairs, providing quality service to both consumer and professional audio customers. From the home audiophile in need of a stereo tuner repair to a professional musician requiring quick repair on existing — or the building of new — sound or lighting equipment, Livewire Audio has been the place to turn.
“Being a professional musician all my adult life, I've had decades of experience using and repairing a wide range of pro musical and audio gear,” says Mike, the brains and talent behind Livewire. “Along the way I have gained an intimate knowledge of what players want in the way of professional repair and support. That knowledge, combined with the intent to charge fairly and the ability to turn work around in a reasonable time motivated me to start Livewire.”
Mike was the founding member of one of Northern Ohio's seminal rock & roll bands, the “Nyte Watchmen,” in the early sixties, and went on to play professionally for the next several decades. A Hammond B3 player for most of this time, Mike also had lots of experience in the early days of synthesizers playing (and repairing) instruments like the Moog and Oberheim.
“Performing with a variety of musicians from Vegas-style ‘show-bands’ to lengthy house gigs to club date bands in South Florida — and playing everything from trio jazz to blues and rock & roll — has given me first-hand knowledge of the sound players want to hear — and I know how to get it for them,” Mike says. “New is not always better.”
They don't make them like they used to … let's make ’em work again!
